Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They can run utilizing gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machinery should be refueled.
In order to avoid possible serious injury, certain safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to wear the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
